For example, with the help of large-sized plates, one wall can be completely formed, and the remaining surfaces are decorated with MDF fragments.

Billing Options

Three methods are used as panel processing:

Veneered boards are pasted over with the thinnest wood layer, therefore they cannot be visually distinguished from real wood. Before painting the boards, primer and primer must be primed. The paint coatings and enamels used for the panels are very flexible and are well distributed over the surface.

Lamination of plates is pasting them with PVC film. It can be shiny or matte, multi-colored, with patterns, photo printing imitating natural stone, brickwork, natural wood and other surfaces.

Sometimes, if a design decision so requires, the plates can be processed with expensive materials - for example, mother of pearl (the price of one such plate can reach 25 thousand rubles).

Fields of application

Veneered panels can be used as wall cladding in the bedroom, hallway, living room, loggia. Due to the good resistance of the material to moisture (applies to painted and laminated samples), it can be used even in the kitchen area. In bathrooms, decorative panels are used infrequently, of which they make a bathroom set.

In the hallways paneled the entire wall from top to bottom, in the rooms focus on one wall or any part of it. Designers willingly use veneered panels in the interior, since they can quickly assemble a wall panel, which will add an interesting touch to the room. This technique is especially relevant for the head of a berth. MDF-plates also decorate the walls for audio and video equipment in the guest room.

In the kitchen area, MDF is used to decorate the apron. The tone of the panels and texture should match the design of the facade and the style of installed appliances. MDF panels can often be seen in office rooms and government offices (hospitals), where there is always a large crowd of people.

The reasons for their popularity as building material for public places are as follows:

  • acceptable price,
  • high wear resistance
  • ease of installation
  • aesthetic look
  • ease of care.

Among the disadvantages of the material can be noted a lot of weight, the need for special fasteners, a large amount of dust during installation.

Styles

In a room with a classic (English) design, MDF panels trim the bottom of the wall. This is in harmony with the design of doorways, fireplaces, stairs.

To create an original interior, panels with 3D drawings are used. Such masterpieces are created according to unique sketches on special milling machines.

Mounting Features

Rectangular plates can be laid horizontally, vertically or diagonally. They are attached to a wooden or metal crate, as well as directly to the surface of the wall, if it is perfectly flat. The edge of the panels is trimmed or grooved to facilitate subsequent installation.

When laying MDF panels, finishing corners, self-tapping screws, kleimers, nails are used. The panels can be laid without gaps or with spacers (a distance of 1 cm between the panels is formed through the use of additional elements made of wood or veneer).

Decorative plates can be embossed, for example, imitate lining. More complex surface textures are referred to as 3D panels.
